UE4 Update

So getting farther into Unreal Engine, I decided to test out what I had learned so far in creating a simple scene. The results were as following:

It's suppose to be the Hallway of a Train Station (Underground one) whatever those are called.. Anyway, it's suppose to be the hall of one of those, it features a mirror, some trash, a broken light, and some nice Reflections.

I made a Video of it too:

Anyway, in regards to the Game I still am planning around a little bit and seeing what to do, seeing if I can even merge with some other Dev teams. Thanks for reading! :)

Game Update #1

I have no idea what I am making or what the game is about, so I have no name for it, therefore Game! So just to keep you guys in the loop I am getting the feel of Unity, how it works, Lighting was hard to catch on to but once you do it's a lot different than Unity and a lot Better!

Here's what I have so far:

Of course I understand that this does not look like much, but this is actually a good amount of Progress. I have got a lot of practice with the Engine, understanding its Programming API, how it all works and the different techniques to do things. So expect the next update to be very juicy once I have Materials, Shading, and more lighting setup!

Thanks for reading, feel free to leave a comment, and I hope to see you in the next one! Stay awesome :)

Gaming Unified

Gaming Unified is the name of a Before-School Club I started at my High School. Basically me and a bunch of other people just come together and Share ideas about Games, game ideas, concepts, etc. This is my way of finding a Project to tackle, Remember I always love Reading and Replying to Comments so feel free to help me out there! :)

I hope to have something to post on later today, but that depends on what I can figure out what type of game I'm making.

UE4 [VS] Unity

After having used Unity for 2~3 years I was sure it was the best there was. Supporting whatveer you pretty much needed, and with the ability to create Great Graphics I was sure I was set. I also learned most the Unity API and got hooked into it. Of course I had heard of the Unreal Engine, but I casted it away, no way there was something better than Unity.

After recently the Unreal Engine 4 went free, my curiosity peaked and I decided to try it out, here are my Results:

Day 1:

  • Movement allows for Grd-Snapping, easier to design levels
  • Comes with Many Built-In materials, AAA Graphics immediately able to be Created.
  • Without Buying anything, came with Eye Adaption, Bloom Effect, Light Glare and Lens, and tons of more awesome Visual Features
  • Lagged so badly, made Game Development nearly impossible
Day 2:
  • Was able to turn down Initial Graphic Quality for Game
  • Lowered Rendering Quality
  • Removed multiple Features like Reflections, Grain, etc.
  • Was able to build a Basic House in First Person with their Template for a First Person Playe
Day 3:
  • Discovered the "Blueprint" feature of Unreal Engine, basically Programming with nodes / events.
  • Unreal Engine comes with Occlusion Culling, HDR, And LOD, all of these reduce lagg and you need Unity Pro to access them.

Overall, as I said I have used Unity for nearly 3 years, but I nearly immedietly in 3 days fell in love with Unreal, and if I can get it to run smoother on my Computer, I am definitely switching. Sorry Unity, you have been great and if I plan on going Mobile I'll come back, but for now, Unreal is my New Choice!

Thanks for reading :)

Day 1 of Unreal:

So far Unreal has been great with Graphics but the performance has been hard on my computer. But so far the results are looking good:

And although the game looks amazingly fantastic, I don't see many computers (Including my own) being able to run it very well. So I'm a little Half and Half on the Situation.. We'll see, hopefully I can also think of an actual idea soon.

Looks so Good it's UNREAL!

With Unreal Engine 4 now becoming free, and the great Photorealistic games released from it, I have decided to take a turn and see what I can do with its capabilities. And although Unity is still my primary engine, that very may well change. Let's see how it plays out! I am hoping for the best :)

Unity 5.0

Unity 5 is out and It kicks ass, with brand new features that will bring Better Lighting, better Audio, and great new Visual Features and easier tools and a thousand times better Physics! Really exited, I just updated and wanted to let you guys know. I hope this will mean any New Projects will look 100% better!

MineCraft Aced Network

So as you may have been able to tell there are Ads on this blog now, that's my way of trying to earn some Revenue from my views so I can afford to keep doing Game Development. Well now I'm expanding!

MineCraft Aced Network has just agreed to do an Ad System with me, my Ads will be on their Website and we will both be making Revenue from it, so this is a Great Deal! I am really exited about this, because this means that not only will I be helping a MC Server to stay alive, but I'll also be able to help fund the Projects that I do here! You can check them out at http://mcaced-network.com/ Right now there is only ads on the Social page, but that will change soon!

They do Creative, Factions, Towny, etc. A whole MC HUB, and all though it's in Beta and max 15 people on at a time, once they are done, they guarentee a great increase in players, which means more fun.

I know this isn't really related to Game Development, but I'm exited and I think they could use a little more traffic! Thanks for reading :)

My Brand New PORTFOLIO!!!!!

YUSH! I finally have a Portfolio... Well I had one before, but it was in Weebly and to be 100% honest, it wasn't all that good. However now I have a Pure HTML / CSS / PHP, etc. Web stuff.... Anyways I HAVE A PORTFOLIO!!!!!!

Really exited, (If you couldn't tell), ON THE OTHER NOTE!

Game Dev, what's going on with it? I have.... NO ANSWERS... Wait, not that...

I HAVE NO IDEA! :D

I am not sure where I am going with this, and to be honest it's weird.... Hmmmmmm, BUT I AM EXITED! (in case you couldn't tell), So I am looking for a project to tackle (Yes you all are wondering about Contamination)... What? You don't know what that is...? Wait... You don't know who I am? Your saying my blog is unfamous and no one has ever heard of me or my projects..?

Anyway, Contamination is CANCELLED. (unless I decide to resume) because of the Modelers bailing on me. So I am looking for something new to get started on, LET ME know what you guys think in the Comments! :D And I hope to see you in the next post! Stay awesome! :)

Recently I have access to a Computer again, so I decided to do some work. I will be possibly "Dual Posting", not 100% but it's basicaly dependent on where I'm located at the time will depend on which game I can work on, so you might get updates on two different games

As a Welcome-Back I would like everyone to post games in the Comments! :D

Post what type of game you want to see, graphic type, general gameplay, etc. Anything you want! I am looking for a Project to tackle.

Right now I got a small Mario thing going that I'll show you guys later, but until then GIMME DEM GAMES! Tell me what you are currently playing, what games have been "Trendy", etc. Just tell me, gimme Ideas and I promise a Great Project to get Started on! I'm pumped, I feel great and I'm ready to tackle what you got! Don't limit yourself, I can do Multiplayer Code, Advanced stuff, etc. So gimme all you got Community!
